Environmental Health and Safety

Health and Safety Responsibilities and Services offered and delivered across the Lower Mainland.

Our Health and Safety Advisory team offers many services and has many responsibilities on CHARTER’s projects. It is the responsibility of our Health and Safety advisory team to Review Prime contractors’ Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance. As the Health and Safety advisory team, they’re responsible to ensure there are safe work plans and safe job procedures in place. The safe job procedures should consist of specialized emergency response plans that address all aspects of the project. The H&S team also conducts site visits where they record what they see and submit these findings to the Prime Contractor and Owner Representatives. By doing these site visits our health and safety team can confirm the safe work procedures are being conducted in real time. If not, they are responsible for reporting back to the Prime Contractor and Owner Representatives with what is unsafe and what can be done to improve the safety procedures. With the site visit, incident flash reports are reviewed to ensure that proper reporting processes are followed, and confirm that investigations are completed, appropriate root causes are identified.

The firm’s Directors’ commitment to the protection and maintenance of the Environmental Health & Safety of its employees’ rights, including their social, psychological and physical well-being as well as that of others will continue to be an important element of change in our culture and accompanying success.
