Harrison River Vessel Impact Fender Project
The Project
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is investigating options to renew the vessel impact fender system protecting the Harrison River bridge in-river center pier. The proposed solution involves stripping the existing fender down to the timber piles, replacing several deficient timber piles, and rebuilding the entire timber structure with all new structural bracing and cladding. The location of the work will require barge access for equipment and material staging; specialized crews will perform the timber piling and piling removal from a barge to avoid any disruption to traffic along the Harrison River bridge..
