Operations Control Centre 2
The Project
OCC 2 consists of a four-storey facility located in the current OMC2 property in Burnaby, BC. that will house key central systems to TransLink’s projects; this central system will communicate back and forth with each individual project via fiber optic, initially during testing and commissioning and subsequently, in the long term, over each asset’s life cycle.
With TransLink’s continued expansion to meet ridership demand, OCC2 becomes a critical infrastructure component of this initiative, which will support current and future projects, including Broadway Subway Project (BSP) and Operations and Maintenance Centre 4 (OMC4)
Charter’s Role
Charter was retained by TransLink for the role of Construction Advisor and Scheduler and was tasked with developing an independent construction schedule and constructability report in preparation for the issuance of the RFP under a Construction-Manager-at-Risk procurement model. In addition, Charter was responsible for developing a Quantitative Risk Assessment and Quantitative Schedule Risk Assessment during the project’s pre-construction phase. Currently, Charter is responsible for overseeing the project’s integrated master schedule in Primavera P6; such master schedule is composed of different sub-schedules from different contractors and is utilized by the team to continuously track the project and assist with meeting key milestones.
