The Project

The Taylor Bridge crossing is a key infrastructure link of the provincial transportation system, carrying more than 7,000 vehicles each day that supply the Northern Region of BC, the Territories, and Alaska, much of which is heavy trucking for commercial and industrial business. In response to growing concerns about frequent and costly maintenance, safety concerns, capacity limitations, and recognizing that the bridge has about 10 to 15 years of useful life remaining, the Province of British Columbia has committed to finding a long term solution. Charter is part of a joint venture with T.Y. Lin International Canada Inc. and Hatch Ltd.

Charter’s Role:

Owners Engineer, Multi-Disciplinary Design Lead, Cost & Constructability

Charter’s Responsibilities:

Charter PDI is responsible for managing the multi-disciplinary design, analysis, and investigation programs to ultimately recommend a preferred design option to be carried forward to Treasury Board.
